honda designers have now surpassed porsche designers as the world's laziest?

edit: holy crap veloster is fugo

edit2: speaking of honda, they have a lot of models that didn't sell as well as the asstek. crosstour, ridgeline, insight, all are ginormous flops.

I think the front is ugly, I like the rest, NG is available for all 50 states! Sign me up just read an article, NG is about 85c a gallon comparatively to gas. . .

probably. Looks like Honda has lost its balls. They should stuff the 2.3 turbo in the RDX in there, but I doubt they will.

Top and back look flatter, the curve is more consistent, and the curve at the back ends closer to the back of the car.

Looks flatter at the front grill/fender, and the tail "fin" (what the hell they called again?) is more pronounced. Ya, but overall, only some minor changes.

Front windshield rake/angle looks flatter too, so good luck to any pedestrians blocked by the A-pillar.

Rear seat headroom looks like it will be just as shitty as in previous Civics. Why even bother putting back seats in the thing or offering a four-door version?

The Fit has more room inside than the Civic and costs less. And has no power, but if you want power why are you getting a Honda?

Not too bad, still looks like everything I expect of Honda nowadays though. It is interesting to see that the natural gas version will now be available in all 50 states.

I showed this to my coworker who has a 2010 civic...

Her: .....oooo where can I buy that grill, I like it.
Me: You can't its a new model
Her: No it isnt, it looks exactly the same, just the grill and bumper is different.
Me: *Send link*
Her: Thats stupid....I wonder if the new front will fit my car.

lol.

There's something "off" about the front end proportions. Could it be that the hood is too short to be aesthetically pleasing?

coupe looks horrible. Sedan looks like just a mild tweak of the current car. Not ugly...but nothing that makes me want to go out and buy it.

Porsche at least has the heritage and part of buying a Porsche is buying the unique look they have.

I agree, same with the current ones.

That said, this refresh really shouldn't be about a massive exterior restyling, but rather making the Civic more competitive in the class, which has gotten TONS more competitive. It's about to get even worse with the new Focus also for 2012 model during 2011. The current model is solidly middle-of-the-class to low end in almost every regard, and isn't really a good value in any other way than resale value. Safety, fuel economy, handling, braking, acceleration, features, pricing, it's all mediocre at the moment. I could be wrong, but I don't think Honda is dumb enough to just try to leave things standing still. They need ~40mpg rating, more competitive gearbox, more options, better safety, a little more power, etc.

The cab forward design with the short nose makes complete sense. It looks like what it is, a futuristic economy car.

I kind of like it...might make a great little commuter car for me when I finally get rid of the Maxima.

And this company brought us the NSX?

Honda has so lost its way...

Heh, not at all. This is their volume seller, the car that makes the bulk of their money. The NSX would not have ever done that, that's assuming it ever broke even. If a company could make a cheap NSX for the people, and the people wanted that, don't you think that is exactly what we would have?

i dunno... this is also the company that makes the ridgeline, crosstour, crz, and insight, despite the fact that consumers have given those cars a resounding 'no'

I guess I have a honda fetish. I love the crosstour, the crz, and REALLY like the new insight. The car that I liked the least was the civic... I ended up buying a civic :D

Fit's not half bad.
0-60 in 8-9 secs is comparable with the civic. Way more room though
