The AIM Warning System is So Stupid!

This immature kid keeps "warning" me, it is so rediculous. So now I am 85% and he keeps warning me. If I hit 100% won't it kick me off??? This is so stupid. What's worst is you can warn people multiple times from the same name. Wouldn't it be smart if the same person couldn't warn you. Ugh this is rediculous.
 
they can't warn you if you stop talking back to them, and if it gets to 100, all it does is lets you stop talking for a while i think.
 
why talk if they just warn you and when you hit 100 you can send like 1 message every like 10 seconds. if he does get you up there. DON'T sign off, you won't be able to sign on til your lvl lowers.
 
Theres a bug in the aol/aim network that sometimes just keeps me up near the 90s and sometimes 100 but it dosent effect me...i got all kinds of stupid ims from people about it...
 
the higher your warning the fewer messages you can send. if you sign off when your at 100, you wont be able to sign back on until you get to around 90. the person can only warn you once for every message you send, up to a certain point.
 
what's really fun is if someone has their away message on, and you IM them with a bunch of different screen names, you get the reply from the message, and you're able to warn with each screen name 🙂

just use direct connect to by pass the limits on chatting 😉

block that kid has well so he cant warm you any more.
 
yep it is, most of the time it's just random people(really your friends) that just IM you and then warn the heck out of you and then sign off.......
 
How can he keep warning you? He can onlywarn you up to 35%, then he would have to sign off, sign on, talk to you for a few min and then he could warn you another 35%.

I really hate the warnings also. Even if someone is warning me and I want to use Direct Connect, I can't because my school firewall blocks that.
 
IMO warnings is the best feature of aim. its really quite amazing how pissed off people can get about something so unimportant. one time this guy tried to fight my roommate because my roommate warned his girlfriend up to 100%. people take that stuff so seriously. if it really bothers you just switch screen names and dont talk to that person any more.

Not true. As long as he's got an AIM window open trying to talk to you, he can warn you. However, if you block him, he can't warn you at all.

Blocked people can warn you if they have an open IM window with you replying to them in it. However, they can only warn you up to a certain percentage, and only for a certain amount of time since you last IM'ed them. After that, AIM will not let them warn you until you talk to them again...

So, children, the lesson here is to shut up.
