Artificial intelligence begins prescribing medications in Utah:


In data shared with Utah regulators, Doctronic compared its AI system with human clinicians across 500 urgent care cases. The results showed the AI’s treatment plan matched the physicians’ 99.2 percent of the time, according to the company.

“The AI is actually better than doctors at doing this,” said Dr. Adam Oskowitz, Doctronic co-founder and an associate professor of surgery at the University of California San Francisco. “When you go see a doctor, it’s not going to do all the checks that the AI is doing.”

Mixed feelings.

Scary, but at the same time, doctors are timed to 12 minutes per visit under private equity, so it IS nice to have an alternative option available! I have a complex medical history & spent 30 years to get to the point where I can feel good for an entire day; ChatGPT was instrumental in several of my diagnosis. It's like having Doctor House on your side (in the real world, everyone is busy & nobody really talks to each other).

Fuck Google shoving Gemini down our throats as Android users and also so many of their products. I am not near switching to Apple, but the thought entered my mind for the first time.
