The Adventures of Tintin - International Trailer

totally going to watch this. don't care if its nick, i loved tin tin when i was a kid

those original books were pretty racist though LOL

i'd love to see a more mature version as opposed to something nick is producing...not necessarily because i want to see sexual themes, but you know that it would be an awesome movie if they could integrate a lot more mature thematic elements

I dont remember Tintin having a gun....

I loved the one where he goes to Africa, that was the most anti-PC kids book ever.

In fairness though the book wasn't really hateful, it was more of a reflection of the paternalistic colonial attitudes of the time.

I always thought he should have a French accent, Babar too.

What film from a old strip are they gonna do next? There really is nothing new under the sun.

Considering most American's have never heard of Asterix, I'd be doubtful it get's a film (at least in America). Tintin though is quite famous. I remember reading the books and watching the show when I was a kid.

The film looks kind of odd however, trying to obviously strive so hard for realism in so many respects while trying to remain faithful to the look of the comics and cartoon.

There have been several Astérix movies made, animated and with real actors (Gerard Depardieu was a great Obélix and looks even more like him now that he's so bloated) and even Tintin got the 'real actors' treatment in 1963 with Tintin Et Les Oranges Bleues.
