Madden does the same thing in football. Everytime I listen to a Madden broadcast I say, at least twice, something along the lines of: "Well thanks for that really helpful information John! I never knew that if the offensive line could block, Tiki Barber would get more yards! That makes a lot of sense now that you've explained it for the past 10 minutes!"

I really do hate him.

Vitale needs to get the hell off the air. He's like a disease that flares up in March of every year, then drops off the face of the earth for 11 months.

Madden = Captain Obvious. I've heard people who don't know anything about football respond to some of his commentary with "Well no $hit, John!"

vitale announce games throughout the entire college season. just because you don't watch doesn't mean he isn't there.

I love Walt for one reason...he has to throw a big word into the mix every half hour and he sounds so uncomfortable/unnatural using it.

Fran Healy is horrid.. Mets fans know who I'm talking about. I think he announced for the Yankees for awhile as well. He's a fool and knows nothing. When it comes to radio then the worst by FAR is Yankees radio announcer John Sterling.. my goodness he's bad and doesn't know how to call anything...and I'm sick of that "The yankees win...TTTTHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE yankees win." crap..

As for Tim McCarver, I think he's quite good. He was the Mets announcer for a long time and was a Yankees announcer for a year or two so I heard him on a daily basis for a time. He understands all the nuances in the game, but I think most people don't like him because he overanalyzes which I could understand. Sometimes he should shut up (he was fired by the Mets because of his big mouth) but its his job to analyze the game and help people understand whats going on. I'm not crazy about Joe Morgan either, but I like Jon Miller.
