Don't folks need a Z170 and a K CPU to overclock memory
Just a Z board.

I just called Gigabyte and she said folks need Z board with a k CPU for overclocking memory. Maybe Intel blocked it now?Just a Z board.
Intel's "Z" boards, ever since they locked OCing with Sandy Bridge to the "K" CPUs, always allowed unlocking the memory multipliers / dividers, even on non-K CPUs. At least, that's how it's always been. Maybe things will be different with Kaby Lake?
