The USB type-A plug is probably the worst designed peripheral plug in history when you're trying to fiddle around in the dark.
When the pins bend even slightly it's far harder.
TRS is the best although rarely do they use more than 4 conductors.
For line level pro audio hard to beat speakon.
PS/2 is easy. Just spin it with light pressure. Much easier than USB.

s-video is worse.
At least usb is clearly either the right way or the wrong way, vs s-vid which will halfway plug in and bend pins.
