The USB type-A plug is probably the worst designed peripheral plug in history when you're trying to fiddle around in the dark.

s-video is worse.

At least usb is clearly either the right way or the wrong way, vs s-vid which will halfway plug in and bend pins.

I feel like I plug a USB in correctly the first time about 20% of the time. Hope that makes sense. I usually spin it around twelve times before throwing my PC at the wall, or the peripheral.

You know you could always LOOK at the plug before trying to plug it in. I do and always get it right on the first try.

I thought I was the only one who had the flip the USB plug around several times before the MFer would plug in... Looks simple and efficient, but turns out to be a POS design. lol

USB ports are generally never at eye level. If you're bending over to get your head down to one then you've already lost the battle.

No, you lost the battle at positioning in the first place. Main USB nodes are capable of supporting 256 devices last time I checked. Possibly more now. I know of no one that uses 256 devices off a single node. So it's pretty easy to get a USB hub with extension cord to make whatever you are going to plug in easy to do. You fail if you can't figure that out.

Nope, PS2 gets my vote for crappiest port yet. I can usually figure out USB within, say, minutes. Sometimes hours, but usually minutes.

PS2 is easy as pie, they almost always point to the 3 o'clock position. USB isn't so lucky, manufacturers like to orient them every which way for seemingly troll related reasons.

When the pins bend even slightly it's far harder.

TRS is the best although rarely do they use more than 4 conductors.

For line level pro audio hard to beat speakon.

Maybe if you only have a single PC, but I have to manage over a hundred made up of various models and form factors. Memorization is not ideal. :\

And no matter what you have to plug in, unless it has zero orientation insertion factor, you'll need to look at it.
