hahaha, actually i knew it was sr when i first posted, hence the salute was just a middle finger. In actuality he wasn't that bad, but I'd like to flip him off just for raising the son he did.

But then people started irritating me, and I lost track of the original post. So...yeah, for my last few comments I was totally thinking wrong. That's what I get for trying to carry on a couple dozen threads at once.

Amphibious refers to the fact that it lands Marines via LCACs, AAAVs, etc. Basically it carries amphibious landing vehicles that carry Marines, assault vehicles and supplies.
