I think it's awsome that our merry little bunch has processed two and a half million points in this venture.

 Thanks Peter for the stats.
Sorry VL and Mark on your dilemmas. Hope you can get the resolved rather quickly. 🙂

On a side note, I will be getting my brand spankin new GTX 260/216 on thursday😀 So, when it does come in I hope to get it up and running by thursday night! That should bring in a few extra PPD for the Team......

Well, one video card down, three continue to soldier on. PPD for three is showing 10,000-something.

Ah good, at least you got it crunching....

Was that card under warranty or have you had it for a while?

I just got those cards about a month ago or so, and this was the first week and a half that it was crunching.

I checked ASUS's web site, it says their VGA cards have a 3-year warranty, but you have to return it to your reseller. Which is NewEgg. So I'll see what they say about it.

In the last 2 days I have put 3 dual core PC's to crunching Folding@hone for AT.

How do I join your race ??

🙂

I'm going to join in the race too! I just added my quad at home. When I get to work I'll add another quad. I'm splitting my power between FAH and BOINC so we'll see how it goes. It has been a while since I've actively folded so I'm looking forward to it.

Go go TAS! (or maybe normal folders? Which side needs more power?)

Edit: So I've got a Q6600 and a 8600 GTS. Should I run 1 SMP + GPU client or 2 SMP + GPU client?

1 Smp and Gpu would be best. I have run 2 smp's with Gpu, but it slows the clients down and it really isnt worth it. Download the F@H Affinity changer if you decide on 2 smp's.... depending on what your GPU does. You might want to play a bit.

My Q6600 @ 3.1Ghz, depending on the client, does 1500 - 2000 PPD ( each client ). So, if your 8600 GTS Gpu does more than that, then worth the 1 smp + Gpu

Thanks Drsignguy, that's a good benchmark for me since I'm also roughly at 3.1.

Thanks for the welcomes!

Welcome to the race, winr and Alyx.
I'll put you inte the race later tonight. 😉

I'll decide which team later when I'll do the stats tonight!
I may switch some more powerful TAS:er to the Folders and Alyx to TAS and winr to the Folders ... I'll try to balance the teams somewhat better ... 😛

Thx for the stats Petrus 🙂.

*passes Petrus some large Euro notes* ,you know where to switch the power to

winr
Hey great to have you with us 🙂
So what are your 3 duallies?😎

Alyx
Hey mate we meet again!😀 ,good to have you along too.
Us folders need the extra help 😉.

Markfw
Sorry to hear about your PSU 🙁
Though TBH I think your rig feels sorry for us 😉.

Hmm, maybe for some but I know for example that Intel quote a max of 71C for the Q6600 G0.

Personally speaking I would stay below 70C when loaded with OCCT or P95 (many DC projects won't get the CPU as hot by about 5-7C on my rig).
Intel specs quote Tcase, CoreTemp/RealTemp measure Tjunction, there is a gradient of about 10C or more between the two. So running at 80C Tjunction is still within 71C Tcase.
As much as ~10C?, not saying you're wrong but where did you find out about that?

Sorry to hear about your quad GPU rig 🙁, at least you can crunch on the remaining 3.

ok, I don't know what happened, but after messing with it for a day, I have 2 GPU back up. Still need the CPU SMP unit. Only 58k ppd. Also, my son turned folding off on 2 smp units for 12 hours. I am so far behind...

kids....

LOL 🙂 Sorry Mark, But that so true! They can do some pretty silly things that just make ya laugh.....and cry.....

Oh, and not to mention the 97% complete SMP unit (1920 points) that said "long 1-4 interactions" and then EUE'ed with no credit !!

and my "kid" is 23 years old, and a senior at PSU. shouldn't have an excuse.

Now that sucks! It's one thing to have EUE's and get some kind of credit, but to go 97% and get no credit at all, well that just bites! And I wouldn't be a happy cruncher! Only for a short time of coarse..🙂

My 3 rigs:

X2 6000+ --4 gig ram

X2 5200+ ..2 gig ram

X2 5200+ --2 gig ram

I need an AM2 mobo and a power supply so I can put my X2 4800+ online

🙂

Thanks for the stats, Peter!!

I tried a repair install once. It didn't work. I don't think any of them work. I mean, if you do updates, and then have a problem, and then use the original disk to repair the OS -- How could that work?

I did not know about FAHMon till now...thanks!

I will install it and report back

EDIT:

Do I need to install FAHMon all 3 of my boxes or will installing it on one see all of my boxes ??

🙂

If you enable file sharing in XP, yes. Here is an example of 9 boxes all sharing:
