The 2800+ Cannot Be Overclocked????????

Yep, you can't overclock paper

seems the Barton core won't offer much on top of the TB athlon core... some cache memory and a little more overclockability... but I'm not looking for an upgrade to the Barton core... I waiting till the Hammer is out and about😎

The Barton core will make for a nice upgrade path for those of us who are still stuck with the Thunderbird cores. I think an upgrade from a 1GHz@1.266GHz to a 2.3GHz-2.4GHz will do nicely.

I think it is already overclocked by AMD to max clock to get a 2800+ rating, you fighting a loseing battle to overclock the dude so give up.Ye just haft to wait for their next 33 mhz jump 🙂.

They get one sample that didn't OC well and conclude that ALL 2800+'s are going to be the same way? Once production ramps up and more samples are tested, then maybe we will have a better idea. But right now its too early to jump to conclusions.

Considering that HardOCP was able to get their 2400+ up to 2400Mhz aircooled, I would doubt the claims from Xbit. Ive read a couple post in forums that others have gotten similar results with the 2400+, and Im planning on getting one once they become more readily available.

Exactly what I was thinking, a member of the Hardforum got his CPU to 2500mhz Vapochilled.... and Kyle got his to 2400mhz aircooled...

Not sure what to think of this article, but I did not see very many OCing articles on the XP2800....
