Is someone has no interest in war flicks, why do they even come into the topic, other then raising your post number and being able to see yourself in print (oh boy), go find the Happy Meadow where rabbits play with coyotes.

I've seen Fly Boys at the video store recently and contemplated picking it up. Is it worth a watch?

It's worth the $3.49
I think I liked it more because I hadn't seen a modern film on WWI flying before than anything else. It's supposedly based on actual people/events as well.

"Harbor"
and I hope you're kidding about it being "Ok"
Actually, "Harbour" is also correct. Not the way Americans spell it, but it is a correct way.

It's the title of a film though, so it should be spelled the way it's spelled in the title of the film when you're talking about the film. ;) If you're talking about the Harbor, spell it however you want.

I really liked the one with Denzel Washington and Meg Ryan in it...wtf was that called again? Dunno if it's a real war movie, more of a war/drama movie.

I know I am alone on this, but Das Boot has to be the most overrated war films of all time. Great story, awesome sets, terrible melodramatic acting that plagued all movies not made in America and England at the time.

I wouldn't even consider 3 kings a war movie... its basically a heist movie.

Maverick shot down a couple of bogies. If that is not war... I don't know what is.

If all it takes is a couple made-up explosions, then Dr. Strangelove... should be on the list too

...and if so, where is Casablanca?

You do realise Apocalypse Now isn't even really about Vietnam right?

Cant believe people are nominating We Were Soldiers. I guess you have to see it with non-American eyes just to realize how ridiculous it is.

And where is Tuntematon Sotilas?

Only thing I can agree with is all the classic war movies, Saving Private Ryan, and Platoon.

Agreed.

If you're sticking movies like "Three Kings" in there then "Hamburger Hill" definately belongs in there...grossly underrated war movie.

What's wrong with We Were Soldiers? You're first person I've heard of with a bad opinion of it.

No Kingdom of Heaven? No Troy? Well...I don't know about the last one, the battles were pretty intense, and I did like their armor, even if it isn't totally 100% correct.
