Futurama was so great because it really did have good writing. I love Family Guy and all, but it's just a series of random jokes and gags that are damn funny, but the story doesn't always come together, and in some cases, make any sense. Futurama was an original idea with fantastic characters. The writers were great because they always had gags that ran the whole episode and sometimes were incorporated into other episodes. The story always came together and the jokes were IMHO, line for line better than Family Guy and The Simpsons put together. I'll always love this show for its balance of compassionate tear-jerking moments and jokes of pure disregard of human/robot/crab emotion.

RIP Futurama, you were the greatest show ever.

The Seymour part was so sad 🙁 I won't be ashamed to admit that when I watched that episode for the first time I got kinda watery-eyed.

Futurama > Late Simpsons
