A guy I know posted on facebook that he was jelly of his mate - put £2 on Maldonado... at 990:1.

That's awesome. I read about some guy that made a killing betting on both Minardi's making the top 5 of the 2005 USGP... thanks to the rest of the teams withdrawing. :awe:

drs is far from ideal, but it's a necessary evil. the fact is f1 is broken and the alonso-petrov situation, where a faster car/driver cannot get by no matter what, must never be allowed to happen again (except for monaco where it's accepted as normal).

Great race. Barcelona used to be one of the most boring races on the calendar but that was probably the most exciting race I've seen at that venue ever!

Glad to see Williams get a win. I was a huge Williams-Renault fan back in the 90s, I might have a hat around here somewhere in fact.

I'll be in Palm Springs for the Monaco GP in a couple weeks. Anyone know a good place to watch the race there live?

But everyone thought the Alonso/Schumacher deal was great.

No one thought the faster Schumacher should get by. 😀

That's why in Monaco qualifying is so crucial. Not only is overtaking in the race extremely difficult, but the tires will degrade even worse than in the other circuits because of the low downforce/cornering speeds.

Monaco will be another weak spot for Mercedes. I don't think Jenson will do good there, either, given he's complaining about the front grip on his car making it understeer a lot. He'd need to work harder, degrading the tires more quickly. For Monaco oversteer works best, so given that's how Sebastian, Kimi, and Alonso have their car set up I think any of those three will win--provided they finish in the front row or just behind the front row in qualifying. I can't see Hamilton winning it, as he's never been particularly good in the circuit.

It depends if Button can find the set up, just because he couldn't this week don't expect it to be the same next race... and from what I recall he likes Monaco.

Alonso will again beat his Ferrari into submission for a good finish.
Massa will struggle to qualify.
Hamilton and Massa will run into each other.

😀

LOL!

I wonder how long the super softs will last on this track. One thing is for sure, there will be tons of marbles built up off line by the end of the race.

Another great race! This has been far and away the best season since I've been following the sport. I wish Lotus could come up with a decent race strategy, I want to see Kimi at the top of the podium.

No doubt. 2 more laps and Kimi would have been on the top step of the podium.

Doubt he can do it in two weeks only. This is Monaco, which, again, requires oversteer. Jenson's car is set up for too much understeer so it would require a 180-degree turn in setup to be able to get a good result.

Don't forget that he has won there too. So has Hamilton.

He did win there in 2008 and got a podium in 2007, but apart from that he's been absent. He could have a chance, but I see Sebastian, Kimi, or even Alonso having a better race.

I remember the days when Ferrari would go back and test at Fiorano on Friday during the Monaco weekend and bring parts in on Saturday morning. 😎

Yeah. Helmets look cool. Also, angry birds(not a fan) on Lotus body.

It looks like Kimi has been struggling the most with his steering setup.. hope they fix it by qualifying Saturday.

Not a fan either, but perhaps it'll help the car fly.

To be honest, since Q2 was damp, we don't really know where he's standing. Kimi's steering issue is supposed to be fixed by now, though.

Way to ruin the JPS wannabe some more. I don't know why that damn Total logo has to be white on red. Now theres a damn bird on the nose. :hmm:
