He only faced one batter because Torre asked Francona to minimize how much he used Rivera. This D-Rays fan thinks Franconca should've put in Baez instead to wrap it up.

Yeah, well, Rivera threw 2 innings on Sunday, so I understand Torre asking him that. Baez is starting really establish himself.

Francona really managed this game well. I liked how he kept Tejada w/ Roberts and Soriano w/ Young for the DP combos. Tejada and Roberts carried the AL with their defense.

I thought it was funny when Francona said he was going to pitch Mariano the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th, just to tire him out for this weekends series.
