Look what I came up with for $5700 CDN (~ $3700 US):

$891.25 - Tyan Thunder K7
$600.00 - Dual AMD Athlon (Thunderbird) 1.33 GHz
$453.16 - 1GB (4x 256MB) PC2100 ECC DDR SDRAM (Crucial)
$1,030 - 2x (RAID0) Seagate X15 18.4 GB 15,000 rpm
$150 - Matrox G450 DualHead
$150 - 10X Slot-load DVD-ROM
$250 - Hercules GameThatre XP
$500 - Nice Dolby surround speaker system
$1200 - 2x 15" LCD monitors
$300 - Quiet components (<28 HSF for the 2 Athlons)
$150 - Natural Keyboard Pro, Intellimouse Explorer
$25 - 100 Mbps Ethernet adapter
Total: $5,699.41

Add a 24" Sony monitor and a GeForce3 and it will still cost less. :) Hell.. add a 50"+ plasma display for gaming.

Now that would be a drooling machine. :)

I'm not a big Mac person, but I do know that if I had a dual 733 Mhz G4 setup, I could rule the world. :)

<< What's the deal with 4 video cards and 1 monitor? >>

LOL :)

My config rules. Matrox + 2 15" LCD for normal use. 24" Sony or plasma for gaming on GeForce3.

I installed Win98SE on a mac using the Virtual PC 4.0. The mac is a G4 733 tower with 256M PC133, and a Rage128 vid card. the win98se ran great too. Even allows to boot to a floppy drive. I am going to see if I can clone it with Imagecast :)

you ridicule it now, but I'd have to say that if you actually got to use it, you'd be impressed by it's looks.. oh, scuse me, I mean DROOOOOLLLING by it's looks..

btw, notice how at the bottom it says 3 more cinema displays, so that would be a total of 4 monitors and for video cards (though don't ask about the PCI slots, cause I don't know, and I doubt many of you do too).

perhaps there's a reason why people like macs, so that they can't be considered part of the PC group, some of which can't count..
