The 16-Ton Monty Python DVD Megaset - 16 dvd's

Price: $30.38

Although it may weigh slightly less than 16 tons, this collection of MONTY PYTHON material does contain a welter of classic comedy moments, which should delight fans who have had to endure a patient wait for much of it to become available. MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS first aired in 1969, and immediately turned the conventions of sketch comedy on its head. Bemused and amused viewers saw the core Python team of Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin playfully toying with the medium as they worked their way through each show. But FLYING CIRCUS wasn't just clever, it was sidesplittingly funny as well, with the cast always making sure the technical quirks were a useful adjunct to the humor, and not the other way round. The entire four-year run of FLYING CIRCUS is included here, alongside two MONTY PYTHON LIVE! presentations--1982's MONTY PYTHON LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL and a reunited Python lineup from 1998 in LIVE AT ASPEN--while the set is rounded out by a "best of" production made to celebrate the 20th year of the Python's, entitled MONTY PYTHON'S PARROT SKETCH NOT INCLUDED

That's because NOBODY EXPECTS THE DVD BOX SET ON SALE!

Heh.. Check your discs when you get it. I ordered a few as gifts a year or two ago. I kept one, and it had TWO disc 3s. (and no disc 4). Luckily, DDD replaced it, without a hassle. 🙂
