I don't know if you are saying it's fake info or just nothing great.
Most of what was discussed was right. I was involved in this alot during the 80's through about 2000ish when one day I came home to find AT&T and the FBI with my parents. I played it off having been warned prior, but I knew from that point on I'd be watched.
The Citi deal I thought played out differently and they were not caught...this may have been another one.
We got involved in the hacking war between LOD and MOD having found the phone bridge locally that would later host these conflicts on it. The thing was really started by Erik Bloodaxe thinking Corrupt of MOD was 'SN' (SuperNigger, an operator for Sprint). Corrupt got all pissed and began tormenting those on the phone. Knight Lightning lived north of us in Florida and his parents were getting harrassed by phone calls and junk...at the time it wasn't hard to make a pizza hut ring to someone's house or turn their phone into a payphone that would ask for a quarter to make a call (we all prepared red boxes for this).
Long story short KL calls Erik at Comsec; LOD's new computer security company. Knight and Erik are hashing out what happened and who may be responsible. Based on the description Erik stated "it's sounded like something MOD/Corrupt would do" (paraphrase)...well Erik's other line rang and it was Corrupt telling him, "it's exactly what we'd do"...
With Comsec on the cover of NewsWeek, the last thing they'd want is a story that they got hacked. Some of the group made a couple calls to FBI agents that 'left their card in case they hear anything'.
FBI had what it needed and waited for Julio (Wing/Brest Tumor/Broken Leg) to turn 18. On his 18th birthday they arrested the group. Phiber Optik got most of the blame when they all basically said he was the hacker and was even on TV showing he was....they still got some punishment, but Phiber (who IMHO wasn't the idiot of the group) did time.
Most of MOD has gone on to be rather profitable.
Kimble was around at this time too...he dabbled in a lot of stuff, no one is sure exactly all of it...but www.kimble.org is the dude; a very fucking rich dude.
Most of the LOD guys never were found out until a decade or so later when it was 'ok' to come out.
