@petrusbroder

I'll try again at FAH after the primegrid race. I did one "independent" cpu task at the beginning of the month. I assumed the GPU wu's were CUDA. I wasn't given any. 🙁 .

The GPU work units are OpenCL, so they are fine for both AMD and Nvidia cards. Here's a link to a spreadsheet that'll give an idea of PPD for most cards.

It looks like I've settled in at 2.1 Million PPD.

I only have 4 GPU slots available and the above PPD is from a 1080, 2 980's and a 780Ti all on linux. I already bought one GPU for this race so I guess my only option is to buy another 1080 or 1080Ti and retire the 780TI (300K PPD). That should give me another 600-700K PPD. I guess I could potential get another million PPD if I replaced the 780Ti with a 1080Ti. So is the extra $200 for a 1080Ti worth an extra 300-400K PPD?

EDIT: Just ordered another 1080.

We have outproduced Brony by more than 10M in 7 days, which is good. but we need to outproduce them by 14 - 15 Mpoints each week if we want to win ....

This is all, folks!
More tomorrow ....

@biodoc , regarding the fact you have some impressive newer cards, and have purchased another, does this mean you are coming out of retirement? I'll just go ahead and say it, it has been just wonderful having you back with us the last few weeks, and we sure hope you're back, aaaannnndd you're assistance with the multiple Linux threads we have going on this month has been invaluable! 🙂 Appreciate you!

Well, I was taking a break on my RX 570 / Ryzen 1600 box, until I could figure out why it was crashing and rebooting.

I rolled back the UEFI, removed the OC (it was crashing even at stock with the new UEFI, if I had the dGPU crunching), and it's been stable for a day or so.

Could you all use some folding help after the PG challenge? I'd love to join in if it isn't against the rules you have with the ponies.
Hi yodap, no, it is not against the rules to join! And Yes, we could most certainly use any help we can get in Folding@Home! Welcome after the PrimeGrid race!

Thank you Tony for the warm welcome back. I'm pretty sure I'll be using my GPUs to support F@H or perhaps GPUGrid in the cold weather months but come summer, I'll shut them down. It's been fun being back and as a long time linux user, it's great to see interest in using linux for distributed computing. Unfortunately, I may have to sell one of my motorcycles in the spring to pay for my new GPUs!

I wanted to like your post, but having to sell a motorcycle sounds like it could be regretful. At least you indicate it's not your only one, so that part is good! 🙂

Thanks for being on the TeAm!

Can we have (sticky) dedicated thread for DC rigs gallery? It's a shame that this kind of wonder is laying around without dedicated home.

I'll try to make a separate post this weekend for a DC rigs gallery. I've got some interesting open-air setups because I have a low dust environment and no pets or children which means I don't need the protection of cases either.

markfw: I'm curious, how much PPD (and what work unit) do you get with that threadripper? Just for the processor.

I have 2 threadrippers. One in linux (218 ppd) and one currently in win10 (196k ppd), soon to also be in linux. The linux one is at stock, but the windows one id OC'ed to 3.9, and still looses. Hence why I keep updating to linux. And those are only 30 threads, the cpu's need one each

Looking forward for it.

I think you've misinterpreted my previous post. What I mean is, "it's a shame that this kind of wonder (DC Rig photos) is laying around without dedicated home (thread)." Sorry for the confusion.

My quick calculation shows our overtake down to 51 days, still not good enough! I've taken a 7970 off of Enigma and put it back on F@H, it's not much, but something...
