Postapocalyptic survival drama on the CW starting tonight Mar 19. http://cwtv.com/shows/the-100/about

Ninety-seven years ago, nuclear Armageddon decimated planet Earth, destroying civilization. The survivors are exiling a group of 100 juvenile prisoners to the Earth’s surface to test whether it’s habitable while they deal with failing space stations that contain the entire 4000 remaining members of the human race.

Desmond from Lost (Henry Ian Cusick), Isaiah Washington (Dr Burke from Grey's Anatomy) and Paige Turco as the non-juveniles.

Eliza Taylor, Thomas McDonell, Marie Avgeropoulos, Eli Goree, Bob Morley, Chris Larkin, Devon Bostick as some of the unfailingly attractive juvenile hard bodies.

i've seen the commercial for it quite a bit and it feels like a terrible mix between LOST, the hunger games, twilight, and dawsons creek. doubt i will be watching it.

Sounds interesting, but why do I get the feeling it's gonna be cheesy and soap opera-ish ?

Reminds me a bit of the very old Robert Heinlein book Tunnel in the Sky.

The CW definitely tries to corner the young adult demographic. I'll give it a shot.

for that exact reason, I'll probably at least watch the first couple episodes.

I never knew it even existed until I saw this thread today. Someone should make a thread about listing all the popular or good TV shows still on TV today.

common ATOTers catch up on it already, so much to discuss.

I have a question. On Earth, are there any mutant type creatures trying to kill the humans? Or only problems on Earth are climate and weather related?

There are actual humans living there, not mutants, they did not show who they manages to survive yet, but yeah, they are there, but no weird faces no special powers or disabilities, just normal people, speaking English

Show is looking great and it has a very Sifi premise people should watch it. It does get a bit better after the couple first episodes.

Next to A.Clarke and I.Asimov, one of my favorite sci-fi authors. :awe:
Looks like I'll have to catch up on how this show it's doing via Xfinity TV or Netflix/etc. 9 episodes so far.

I can grok that. Heinlein was a great author back in the day.

As for this show, I've never heard of it before. If I have a CW channel here, I've never seen it.
