Robor, I waste plenty of time on OT, its not that bad, you just have to be "selective" on what threads you read.
 
I disagree. I haven't spent much time in OT but from what I saw there's nothing more than a lot of arguements. I'd call it debate but from what I saw that's not what happens in most cases. I'm sure there's a few worthwhile topics but I'd also bet that most of the trolls originate in OT. I'm gonna go back to posting in DC and lurking in the other threads. I don't know why I ventured out of DC in the first place... 😕

Robor, w/ an APPD over 4.0, do you really consider yourself a "lurker?" I'm not flaming you or anything like that, just trying to comprehend your post. I post quite a bit, okay, alot, in OT, but I personally do not consider myself a "troll." Thanks for your valuable time.

Hehe - yeah, I venture into FS/FT, Forum Issues and some of tech support type forums, but that's pretty much it. In fact, I set my preference so that the OT forum doesn't even show up in the list - complete waste of time in my opinion.

Zim Hosein I never said I was a lurker, I said "posting in DC and lurking in the other threads". I post in DC all the time and every once in a while I post in GH. I'm gonna stick to that. I guess I should've said lurking in the other *forums* instead of other threads. That's what I meant. Oh, I didn't aim that "troll" comment at you. You've got over 1K posts. When I said a lot of trolls originate there I was talking about the new members with only a few posts who signup just to start arguements. There was a few in the thread I was talking about.
 
Man, OT is too funny for me to leave! That's where I get my funny links, and stuff. Jeff Foxworthy once joked that he goes to the state fairs to see that his family's not the strangest family in the world. OT is the state fair 😀.

Same here, total waste of my time also.

I spend a lot of time here and in the FS/FT forum (To much there..), and drop in to the network and GH forums every now and then.

Been too busy to do anything anywhere on this site, but if I have to pick one Forum to visit out of all of them, it will be the DC Forum. 😉
 
Yeah there's a lot of flaming in OT:disgust: ,it seems for the most part that controlled arguments can't happen ,it usually ends up with a load of insults being hurled..........kinda reminds me of Sharkeys forum!

Well, it goes a bit like that anyway......

I ventured out of DC once or twice but I didn't like it..

The big problem with the internet is that there are a lot of little knobjockeys out there who wouldn't dare look twice at you on the street but behind the keyboard they are safe and as such like to flex their imaginary muscle. It's a bit like roadrage and the "safe in my car syndrome"..

So, to summarise, the internet is the root of all evil, and as a network designer, I am Bealzebub !!!!!!!!!!

Robor, thanks for the clarification, I just didn't understand the "lurking" part of your post. I agree that there are trolls that "originate" there and then there are those that post to start arguments, but there still is some funny stuff there. I didn't personally take offense to the troll comment, so all is cool 🙂
