That's the filthiest apartment I've ever seen!

I got to clean worse...

When I was in the Marines one of the guys in my unit was discharged and he left his base housing without cleaning it. He was pretty chummy with some of the higher ups in my unit, so instead of letting the base charge him for cleaning our Warrant Officer decided to send a group of us over to his house to clean it up.

This was a 3 day job for about 10 people and we had to call in the garbage service twice to empty out the dumpster...

The first two days we were wearing those disposable plastic/cloth clean suits, thick rubber gloves, and the little face masks you see on doctor shows spritzed with perfume/cologne.

The first thing we notice upon nearing the door was the horrendous smell emanating from this shit hole. I thought that we were going to come across a rotten corpse when we entered... I was prepared for that, but not what we found. Every inch of this house was covered with garbage - Not empty soda cups and pizza boxes, but honest to god garbage. Chicken bones, rice, pizza, frozen dinner trays (most still had food in them), glasses of milk, Q-tips, tampons, diapers, vegetables, fruit, dog/cat shit... the list goes on.

In one of the rooms we found a big walk in closet filled with garbage bags - FILLED, top to bottom, side to side, FILLED. Each garbage bag was stuffed with dirty diapers! There was baby poop on the floor, puke on various surfaces, and I believe that every possible inch of the floor had uncleaned piss on it at least once.

The bathroom was horrendous... you know that ring that sometimes forms in your toilet at the water level when you don't clean it often enough? you know those chunks of poo stuck to the bottom of the toilet seat when you have the explosive shits? Ya, that was the entire bathroom. There was literally shit on the walls. There was used toilet paper and tampons littering the floor. There was about 8 different kinds of anal lube and 3 or 4 dildos spread throughout the bathroom (One of which had chunks of what appeared to be shit on it). They left their toothbrushes too (They looked brand new and unused). There was also what can only be described as pubic hair covering most of the horizontal surfaces.

In another room we found a few piles of shit on the floor, blood on the wall, and more anal lube and dildos. There were even more garbage bags in this closet... some of them contained diapers, but most were filled with old rotten food. Oh, and the mattress... we had to get special permission from base to burn it. The sheets were smeared with shit, blood, and what was obviously old cum stains, and the mattress itself wasn't much better. There was also an old aquarium filled with green algae - we found 5 or 6 dead, rotting fish too.

We found out that they had had their power turned off about 2-3 weeks before moving out. The kitchen made more than one of us puke (I'm getting quesy just remembering it). The smell from the fridge was so overpowering that no one wanted to go anywhere within 10 feet of it. One of the guys mentioned that it smelled better than when his family found his grandmother after she had been dead for a week - he got voluntold to spearhead the fridge cleaning because he had dealt with smells this bad before. The freezer had a turkey in it that was so rotten that it looked like a big ball of maggots, the fridge was so filled with containers and bottles so moldy that most were unrecognizable, and the sink seemed to have an entire colony of cockroaches living in it.

Even after every inch of the house had been scrubbed with bleach water and several coats of generic Lysol the smell was so horrendous that no one wanted to go near it. I heard that base housing still charged him to redo the floors and repaint the walls just to clear out the smell.

I just read through this and to be honest, this post doesn't do justice to how disgusting this house was. I know that I overlooked some of the nastiness that was this house (This happened about 7 years ago), but I hope I painted a pretty enough picture to give you guys an idea of how bad this place was.

I think I'm gonna go puke now...
