The cats are very very happy tonight, there is a big moth that both of them can easily track. Too bad for them it's too smart to go anywhere but the ceiling.
Of course it would have helped if I read the part of the manual on Macro and Super Macro shooting before I took the pictures. :p

Big Moth

Edit: Figured out how to get the super macro working. Oh my god does it get close!!! Took a picture of this bug with a pincer behind. Any idea what it is? Almost squished it with the lens. :p

I suppose you have a point about the ceiling, it looks like spoiled lumpy milk.
Unfortunately, all we can do about it is keep saving for a house where it either doesn't have these kinds of ceilings or we'll be removing it. :p

That would be an earwig. I hate those things. I remember one summer about 10 years ago when they were really bad. We have a pop-up camper at home. We went to move the thing, and there were about 100 earwigs that somehow managed to crawl into the tire treads and live there. Fricken gross.

The pincerbuttbug is an earwig. They live in trees mostly, but sometimes get into houses. They're harmless.

Any SLR will blow even the best prosumer camera out of the water. I was tempted to get an SLR but I don't think the wife would ever approve an $800 camera.
Either way I'm having fun with the IS 12x zoom and the 0cm super macro. Just have to make sure I don't squish the bugs with super macro. :)

Edit: Thanks for the info on the bug Beller0ph1 and Mrvile. Wife will be glad to know what it is.
