This pisses me off to no end.

In my quest for debt elimation, I laid out exactly how much money I would need to get me through until Friday (pay day). I then used the rest towards my credit card debt.

I had just under $30 left to get me through the next four days, & CH just charged $29.94 to my debit account (For God only knows what DVD), overdrawing it by $0.20.

So now I not only have all of $3.30 in my pocket, I have an overdrawn debit account.

And of course I have no idea what the PIN is on my credit card, since I've never used it for PIN based transactions (eg cash advances) before.

Damn them, I should have cancelled them months ago.

Plus evil marks on your credit history, at least mine was only a debit account. I'll pay the damn $20 fee & be done with it, but it still sucks.

They have access to your debit account? :Q
It's been a while since I was a member, but they would just send me a bill. I'd never give those services access to my checking account.

This is why you should always use a credit card for club memberships, etc, where you often need to dispute charges.

If your debit card has a Visa or Mastercard symbol, call the respective company's HQ and try disputing. They may help.

They charged it to my VISA, which is a debit account. My only credit card is separate from that, if they wanted to bill that one I wouldn't have cared too much.

For anything new I use my true credit card, but when I signed up with them I only had the debit card.

Why in the world would you give Columbia access to your account? They charge you twice at least 50% of the time, you should always use a credit card so it's easier to dispute charges...

It may be inconvenient, but I have all online acounts set up as "one time only" (except my ISP's $8.95 a month). I find it more inconvenient to have automatic "surprise" debits from my accounts,

EDIT: Columbia House sucks anyway. BMG is a better deal. :)
