Yeah, its just what they do so they can do as little as possible. Instead of writing 22 minutes of show, they can cut that by like 5 minutes.

I really don't think that's why they do it. Family guy is extremely dense with content. They don't need to waste time. Sometimes I think it is too dense, and they try to make every cut scene funny, when it isn't. The extended monotonous scenes give it a break, which is funny.

I know I'm gonna get flamed for this, but I thought that was pathetic. I knew you geeks would enjoy it though.

my wife hates those repetitive comedy bits, but I love them. I think there were at least 3 in that episode.

Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. Oh look, a piece of candy. It was hilarious. I loved how it dragged on for a while.

But to me, even funnier was the part where Brian kept on answering Peter's questions about actors/pop culture references.

Hard to explain, but eventually Peter was like "Who was the guy in Platoon?" And Brian couldn't answer, and Peter said "I'm sorry, the correct answer was Tom Behrenger." And then Peter started acted like it was a game show, and then Brian said "Oh thanks, I really enjoyed being here." Starts walking off, and turns around saying "Wait a minute....", LOL.

I suck at explaining, but that part was freaking hilarious.
