So I recently quit my job after finding a better one and had a bit of time in between the two jobs so a small vacation was in order. I felt like going somewhere warm and interesting, so I decided on a road trip through southern Spain.
I had only 10 free days, so I flew into Madrid, stayed there 3 days, then went south to Malaga where I rented a car and made a nice 1100km loop through Andalucia, going through Gibraltar, Tarifa, Cadiz, Jerez de la Frontera, Seville, Cordoba, Granada and some smaller towns in between, then back to Malaga.
The weather was great (~20C), the roads a joy to drive on (150kmh highways or winding, twisty mountain and coastal roads), the places were interesting, the food was delicious and booze was cheap. I didn't scrimp or spend wildly and the entire trip ended up costing me $1450, which seems like a damn good price for 10 days in Europe.
Anyway, it was great and I highly recommend it. Here's some of the photos I took:
