i wanted to pick it up when i saw it the other day but i have sort of lost faith in them. i think the last album they put out that i really enjoyed almost every track was smash.
is this any good?

i tend to agree. although i always think railing on a band for selling out is a little rough. i mean, given the chance...who knows what anyone would do. i think they could have done well keeping with their harder, older sound...but...i figured its been awhile since the last one. these lyrics might be pretty good.

I like it. Some of the lyrics to the songs are bad, but overall there are some good songs. Nah, they're not all great tracks. Who has put out a cd recently that does that anyway.

eh, I gave it a run through at my friends house. It's ok. Used to like them a lot better with their older stuff. Seeing them at Woodstock 99 was awesome though! They put on a good concert and a quarter of a million people were throwing 20 oz soda bottles as high as they could in the error. That was a site to see

It might be ok, although nowhere near as good as Metallica's St.Anger is. I would buy St.Anger instead of the new Offspring. The only Offspring album I liked was the one with "....you gotta keep em separate", I thought that whole CD was great.

and yet you don't even know the lyric, let alone the title of the song.

Always try before you buy. Too many new CD's suck.
I've only listened to Splinter a little and some songs are okay but it's not their best work. I've found that discovering new bands is better than relying on old bands to come out with good albums.

They can sell out, i.e. getting a big contract and selling millions of records, and still make good music. I just hate it when bands change their musical focus to please others.

yeah, no. i hate me some metallica.

but i agree that smash was a good album. from what ive heard of this last one, its less poppy than the last couple. ill find a friend who has it and give a few of the tracks a listen.
