That damn locking strip...

...has anyone actually used the locking strip for the molding. My fingers are numb now after trying to get them on... even after i stretched them its very difficult. :frown:

yup I used the locking strip. It's a must. I had more of a problem getting the strip and window in. It kept twisting as I was putting it in. I hear it gets easier the next time but thank god I haven't had to put it back in again. My daughter likes the new window and hasn't pushed it in yet.

Also, its ALOT easier with THREE people, especially when one of them has MOTHERLY SKILLz. 😉

Still took us about 15 minutes! 😱

I think it isnt fitting right though 🙁. The window sticks outward on one side...probobly didnt cut my molding short enough 🙁.

Try using a little soapy water to kinda lube the locking strip as you are putting it(the locking strip) in. I used to do a lot of winshield and glass work, and you almost always need some kind of lubricant to make the job a lot easier. It also helps when placing the window in the moulding.

Hope this helps some.

Thanks guys... ill try all your suggestions tomorrow... my thumbs hurt like hell right now... i thought fitting the window was bad enough... now that damn strip. 😀 Oh well... looks nice though.
