That damn locking strip...

...has anyone actually used the locking strip for the molding. My fingers are numb now after trying to get them on... even after i stretched them its very difficult. :frown:

yup I used the locking strip. It's a must. I had more of a problem getting the strip and window in. It kept twisting as I was putting it in. I hear it gets easier the next time but thank god I haven't had to put it back in again. My daughter likes the new window and hasn't pushed it in yet.

Its also easier with 2 people... Get a friend to help :)

Also, its ALOT easier with THREE people, especially when one of them has MOTHERLY SKILLz. ;)

Still took us about 15 minutes! :eek:

I think it isnt fitting right though :(. The window sticks outward on one side...probobly didnt cut my molding short enough :(.

Try using a little soapy water to kinda lube the locking strip as you are putting it(the locking strip) in. I used to do a lot of winshield and glass work, and you almost always need some kind of lubricant to make the job a lot easier. It also helps when placing the window in the moulding.

Thanks guys... ill try all your suggestions tomorrow... my thumbs hurt like hell right now... i thought fitting the window was bad enough... now that damn strip. :D Oh well... looks nice though.
