I don't want to make a turducken because I hate duck, however, I will be smoking and oven roasting a turkey this year and want to add another meat to the mix. Pulled pork is out because a lot of people dont like it. Other suggestions, something I can throw in the smoker and have people go DAAAAYUM, thats some delicious meat!

Already going to have rolls, pies, mashed and sweet potatoes, gravy, cranberry gunk, cheesy rice/broccoli, stuffing, the normal stuff.

I think I made a post on this a year or two ago but can't find it.

I hate Turkey, but Thanksgiving is the only time of the year when I eat it. It's not Thanksgiving with any other meat.

Lamb is so darn expensive and I plan on smoking whatever I make. Beef stew isn't bad, but not smoked. Might get a brisket as suggested just in case.

Ha! I thought I was the only one that smoked turkey on Thanksgiving :)

I did it on a whim a few years ago because I had a huge surplus of seasoned apple wood. I only did two drumsticks, and everyone loved it so much I've done a full turkey outside and two small ones inside ever since.

(I do two 11-12lb turkeys because they tend to have more meat and cook faster than 1 large 22-24lb turkey).

If you know any deer hunters they love to share their kill. If deer meat is prepared right is can be awesome.

Unless that deer spent it's life drinking swamp water and eating moss :p

(that was my last experience with deer filets---ugh** They tasted like steak dipped in dirty dish water**)
