Thanks to Koing, new cell phone has arrived fresh from the UK!

Picked up a new Samsung E780 from ebay.co.uk and had it shipped to Koing as the seller wouldn't ship outside the UK. Koing in turn shipped it to me in the states. It is pretty sweet IMO.

Does it have a very graphical menu or is it text based? Looks like a nice phone, I obviously don't know much about it 😛

Looks very slick. Looks like I would definitely pick it up in place of the RAZR.

Side note: whenever I see Koing's username, I think of the enemies' names in the Donkey Kong Country series...

props to Koing for doing that for ya!

Indeed, many :beer:s for Koing

He is a really nice guy, there were half a dozen other UK members that also offered to help me out. Props to our UK member base, good people. 🙂

What network can you use it on in the US?

Its a GSM phone, as all the cool phones are. 😉

And so if I bought one of those, and I had my current t-mobile service, exactly how would I move my number from my razr over to that thing?

The phone is unlocked, meaning you can take any GSM SIM card and stick it in. The work required is nill. I took my SIM card out of my Treo and poped in this bad boy. No numbers to move, no need to contact your carrier, just simple and easy.

Cool. So where do I find out out about neat foreign phones that I can do this with?

Does this phone store physical addresses in addition to phone numbers? Does it also have any programs that will allow it to synch up to outlook on a computer?
