People don't comprehend sh!t about the veil, women are not forced to wear it however it's a requirement and it's up to them to satisfy that requirement!
As far as I know, almost all countries in the middle east except Saudi Arabian Kingdom do not force women to wear the veil, it's a personal choice, yet most Muslim women wear the veil does that give you some idea ?

Second point Syria is a secular country, wearing the veil is not mandatory or anything women are not oppressed in Syria to wear the veil, it's up to the women, some do and some don't.

Saying a women is oppressed because she is wearing a veil is the same as saying that nuns are oppressed since they have to cover almost their whole bodies.
When Pelosi was in Syria, I guess what she did was out of respect for the Arabic/Islamic culture in general not for religious reasons.
Even in the west some Christian women wear scarfs when visiting certain places as a sign of modesty.

Well here's the big problem: the article is factually incorrect.
1. Pelosi did not wear a veil. She wore a headscarf.
2. Pelosi wore the headscarf while inside a mosque. This is traditional respect, similar to how a Christian would be expected to where a kippah when inside a Synagogue. Or at the Wailing Wall.
3. Pelosi did not wear a scarf while meeting with Assad.
4. Pelosi did wear a scarf while visiting a market, but she wore it on her shoulders, like, well, a scarf.
