Thanks George Lucas, you can stop the RPGs and FPS. *slight rant*

do people still play Freelancer? I remember it being fun for a while, but the multiplayer (at least when it came out) sucked big time. Liked it for the reason that there wasn't a lot of complication with economics and such.

remember the Wing Commander Series? Those were awesome too.

Wing Commander was the sh!t with a joystick. I loved X-wing VS Tie fighters also. I remember matching the speed of your enemy's whiling you were on their tail 😀

There is the Freespace 2 Source Code Project, for those hankering for a new Freespace game. Its not really new, but it does bring FS2 almost to X3 level of visuals. Search for my thread on it, or google it.

No.

Give me another part in the JK series, already, goddammit. I don't give a crap about the millions of clones fighting or the different perspectives of the movies. GIVE ME MORE KATARN!

I'm with you. He was the Wolverine of Jedis. Bring back Kyle!

Jedi Knight and KOTOR were both great series. I never liked the Tie Fighter games. I played Rogue Squadron, didn't really care for it.

Why is the genre dead? You would think that a good space flight sim would make a lot of money as a niche product.

I loved the JKII, 1 hit KO, where you could put your style on red, pull them so they fall at your feet then turn and slash them with one powerful backspin hit. If its cheap and people will hate you for it, I'm all over it.

OMG! I remember having that happen to me all the damn time. I was so pissed everytime it happened to me.

It was an awesome game though.

I was flicking through all of my old video games.

Star Wars: X-Wing (Yes the 1992 version)
Star Wars: Tie Fighter (1995)
Star Wars: Xwing Vs. Tie Fighter (1997)
Star Wars: Xwing Vs. Tie Fighter Balance of Power
Star Wars: Rebellion

They took forever, the graphics were AMAZING for the time.

I remember I was so angry when lucasarts announced they would no longer be making flight simulators.

I'm sorry, I'm sick of Jedi Outcast, Galaxies, and Empire at War, just give me some flight sims, they were amazing.

would you be willing to part with your x-wing vs tie fighter and balance of power? 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀::money;:money;:money;:money;:money;

The Rogue Squadron franchise is still around...

Rouge Squadron has always been fun. The first one was the best, IMHO.

Battlefront II has some pretty sweet space combat, too.

Are you kidding me??? Yeah its awesome, for about 5 min. There are only three battle scenarios in the game. Period. So play it a few times and it becomes a repetative as the daily tassley with Palmela

Too many young gamers are RPG whores.

I replay Freelancer about once every 6 months. It's HAWT.

I liked the yellow style (quick, think that was the color for Quick Style). Crouch, then forward and left mouse. It'd do a fast upward slash that really did a lot of damage.

Speaking of old games, I'd love a WinXP-compatible version of SimCity2000. It defaults to a 60Hz refresh rate, which is just nasty, especially on a 21" monitor. I might try SimCity4 sometime, but the reviews I've read say it's a bit buggy.

resource hog as welll!! When it came out 512 ram was the "standard" config for a system and unless you had 1 gig it just slowed down too much! And even with 1 gig it would slow down if you were good at building a city. That would be aiken to having a game chug with 2 gigs of ram today...

I dunno about you, but I love the Star Wars RPGS and FPS. They are fun....actually FPS not as much. The only one I can stand is JK2~ I don't even use guns once I get my saber 😀 Its funy to play and beat it entirely with a saber cause you feel so pimp ass!
