Waited an hour on hold to talk to someone, guy knows whats wrong with my missing DL, puts me on hold and then he hangs up. Awesome.

Sounds like a good reason to drive down there and complain... oh wait, without a drivers license you can't.

I guess they are smarter then everyone thought they were. 😛

somewhat related; I find good call centers actually ask for your number or give you a number to call on the offchance the call gets disconnected.

Why didn't you go to the dmv? I wouldn't want to wait on hold for an hour. Usually, I'm in and out of the dmv in 10 - 15 minutes.

California DMV isn't so quick...unless you have an appointment.
Without an appointment, you might wait a couple of hours to be served.
(Busy places, often understaffed for the amount of people they have to deal with)

dmv isn't as bad as everyone makes it seem to be, i've never spent more than 30 minutes down there at a time, though i did have to go back twice for the same thing

Could have been a mistake. A lot of phones have the hold and disconnect button right next to each other.

If I'm on hold with any place for more than 15 minutes or so I pretty much count on being disconnected. I just hang up and call back now. No reason to wait that long when it's obvious you've been forgotten.
