Cool, now we are going to have two bridges and a tunnel to Canada! If this makes International commerce better for us, I'm all for it. Also, I'm not a Michigan resident anymore..so I don't have to pay for it. But, it sounds nice...

Canada is paying for the bridge construction, also toll collection to recover build cost and ongoing maintenance cost.

Well - you will but in a very very indirect way. Since it is an international crossing it will need to be manned by the CBP. They get their money from the federal government that gets that money from all citizens in the form of taxes. So - ha... kinda

(This was the basis for another commercial about how our taxes are being wasted to pay for this new bridge)

Yanks? Isnt that an Ethnic Slur???

It was a derogatory term used by the Dutch if I recall, they called the English to the north "Little John", or Janke. Then the English decided to use it as an insult to those damned New Englanders who kept shooting at them. How cheeky!

To me a Yank is a person from the Northeast, but my foreign friends use it in lieu of "American."

Michigan native here, and although I haven't lived there in forever I still keep tabs on what's happening in places like Detroit and Ann Arbor. I'm happy to hear that idiot lost, a single person having private control of a commercial artery of that importance makes no sense. Getting an alternate built by Canada is a win-win.
