Mr. Singh has proven to be an incredible contractor and friend during a costly home renovation/squatter situation, and I'd like to thank him for going above and beyond. I know he drinks but is not vocal about what he drinks - what's a drink common among traditional punjabi/sikh people? I hope this doesn't come off as racist, just no idea where to start.

Intoxication: Consumption of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and other intoxicants is not allowed. Intoxicants are strictly forbidden for a Sikh.

So he might not be Sikh :D

There is usually a bottle of Green and Blue label for show but you get served Red as a guest from the decanter unless your the father in law then you get the good stuff.

If the man is a whisky drinker then he probably will appreciate some Johnny Walker, but maybe a cash "tip" might be more useful?

Lassi, not an intoxicating drink but something I'm sure even you will enjoy if done right.
You'll need some good quality spices though, rest assured it's something every Indian enjoys especially Punjabis but this is assuming you're comfortable making one at home.

Bahng Lassi sounds interesting though....

An original cannabis recipe can turn a city or even a whole country into a tourist magnet. In India, it’s a weed milkshake that brings all the boys to the yard. Bhang lassi is a drink that’s made of yoghurt or milk, nuts, spices such as cardamom and cinnamon, rose water, and—yes—cannabis, ground and mixed with water, then formed in the shape of balls.

Forget alcohol, man. Get him something personal... like a couple's massage. Go with him!

I second that. These kinds of moments don't come often in life.

I am Indian, but don't know what type of alcohol to recommend. My Sikh friends back in college would drink anything, but we were broke-ass college students.
