thank god nvidia released official laptop drivers

evident

Why the F did it take them 4 years to do this? with my acer laptop i've either been stuck with some crap nvidia driver that was released when vista first came out, which was buggy as hell. only other alternative was to switch to a hacked driver which was alot better but broke my blu-ray playback because of the WHQL signing.

thanks for wasting countless hours of my life before, assholes!

NVIDIA now offering laptop drivers directly through website

I "upgraded" to a new laptop last year, but the Vista drivers were missing so many standard features that I had to return it and keep my old XP laptop. I hope this means they have all the basic driver functions working again.

It would be interesting to see what kind of performance benefit these have over the vendor drivers

given the fact that vendors never update their freakin website, i would say a great amount over time

Yes, if I was buying a new laptop now I would probably look to get a nVidia graphics chip simply because of the WHQL drivers available. Lenovo hasn't updated my video drive since September 19th, 2007 and ATI only allows certain vendors to get their standard drivers.

yeah. it's complete BS that the graphics card companies did this to laptop users. dealing with hacked drivers is a mess, especially w/ WHQL and blu-ray

They do not work on the GO 7900GS in my Toshiba P105, still having to use the 97 generation detonators from Toshiba dated January 2007.
