Last night's South Park was hilarious, but what was that Thai food they were talking about? Was it Meekong?

Anybody know about this food? Why is it so nasty?

I didn't see the whole episode, but I know Mekong is a fairly cheap alcoholic drink that is common in Thailand.

I don't know how to spell it, but it was Meekrob. I've been to some killer thai restaurants here in LA but can't remember what that stuff is. I thought it was a weird salad or something. How many sh1ts did they end up with anyway?

Johnlee, they probably tried to use a character like ½ but it's not being displayed correctly. I also thought that was funny, though. :)

Mee Grob or Mee Kerob is good stuff. You take rice noodles and cook them in oil, which makes a crispy web of noodles. You then mix in a sort of sweet and sour sauce. Most thai restaurants serve it as an appetizer and use a very sweet sauce. I have an AWESOME recipe for it where it serves as more of a side dish and is less sweet.

Still, it is not as good as Pad Thai.

Mmmm, Pad Thai.... my mom makes a damn good chicken satay w/ homemade peanut sauce, too. Yum!

You can't eat a whole order of Meekrob by yourself though... it gets sickening after a while. Too sweet, but still good.

Warning, don't eat it as a leftover. It's nasty microwaved.
