TFC tips?

I started playing team fortress classic because I was bored and needed a new multiplayer fix. Plus with the new coming relatively soon I'd like to have some experience with it. Problem is I can't seem to find a way to do any good throughout the carnage. Any tips to get me into it cuz as of now I don't see how this game got so popular?
 
Dude, TFC kicks ass. The only problem is that not a lot of people play it now. Medic is awesome cause he can infect people, and they become contagious and infect each other. Its cool as hell to infect one person and watch his team run away from him....they usually end up killing him. Engineer is badass too, just plant some sentry guns outside their spawn. I think it way better when everyone was playing it, because you need a full server to really enjoy the mayheim.
 
Maybe I just need to practice to learn all the little tricks that make it so fun (conc jump, rocket jump, etc...). I just got done playing an "organized" clan ctf match, I was engineer. Gotta say did a lot better than normal and it was decently entertaining. The spy's fun too when you can get into their base.
 
If you mean attackers/defenders then it was just a ctf match for both sides... red vs blue but I played defense. If you mean what clan then I have no idea and actually didn't know they wanted to go serious, but they let me stay and I did pretty good on defense. I ended up... 3rd on my team for kills I think (27-7, don't laugh that's really good for me).

Anyway I'm planning on getting TF2 and that's why I wanted to play TFC now. One: to see the changes 1st hand and two: to make sure I kinda know wtf I'm doing when I get it 🙂

my fav class was by far the spy. I tend to rotate disguises pretty often, just make sure u dont change infront of em. Feign deaths around sniper pits and wait for them to come. one stab in the back is an instant kill, just stay on the move. Also as a spy, be sure to take out all the SG's you can, especially the upgraded ones at critical spots. its a team game, play your role.

also when i got bored of the game i messed around in low gravity servers, i always thought they were the best
 
Just got done playing for a while... spy is definitely fun. Destroying their turrets they just set up never gets old, neither is stabbing the engy whos all alone setting it up 🙂.

No, I meant 'team' as: "... clan ctf..."
 
The only thing I don't like about TFC is how slow it is compared to Quake: TF.

I can't wait for TF2/TF:F!!!!!!!!
