Hello,

I keep getting text spam (that says it's a group conversation) that has no phone number, so when I long press on it, the only option is to delete it (there's no 'add to spam numbers' option).

I forwarded it to 7729 (T-Mobile told me to do that) but I got a message back telling me to reply with the sender's number. They recommended using "Trapcall" but it is a paid service and I don't think I should have to pay somebody to block texts.

Is there any way to block texts like this natively? Maybe a recommended free app? Or just keep deleting them and be annoyed for the rest of my days?

If it's coming from an unknown or random number each time, you're pretty much screwed short of putting an SMS block on your line or changing your phone number.

i hate text spam.

i once put my number on a form at a night club, that text spammed me for 2 years. it took so many phone calls and texts and faxes to finally get off.

you can probably go to one of those do not call sites at the minimum though not sure if that works.

when i was on verizon they had a thing to block texts . t-mobile doesnt?

Not sure if you're on iOS or Android, but if you're on Android you should still be able to block messages from the individual sender within hangouts. Just open the message within hangouts, click options->People & options and then you should see an option to block the sender.

Root Call blocker pro was the best call blocking app I ever used on Android (assuming you have root). You can use it to seamlessly block calls/ texts
