worst. state. ever.

nothing good has come from Texas since the birth of Janis Joplin.

This coming from someone from New Jersey?

That is pretty damn funny considering that New Jersey is the armpit of the world along with the white trash capitol of the USA.....and considering that I have lived there I am not just assuming things about NJ like most assume about Texas.

just because New Jersey sucks doesn't mean Texas doesn't suck as well ;) that's an awful argument.

So many people have a lot of misconceptions about Texas...that its some kind of backwater hickville.

The truth is that its extremely diverse in the bigger cities (Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, etc). Lots of great ethnic restaurants and communities.

I came from Colorado, and while it is a beautiful state, I have to say its barely more ethnically diverse than Utah or Idaho.

Don't mess with Texas ;)

New Jersey would be a great state if it were cut off and dropped into the ocean.

No, no, no. I value our underwater friends in the Atlantic to much to wish them that kind of harm. Plus, 'you know what' floats and I'd hate to see that make its way down to the Gulf..

;)

You basically finished with what I was going to point out, of course those cities are diverse to you, you came from a state whiter than michael jackson. :p

Some like to call austin the san francisco of texas, but as one girl I read put it, her boyfriend was a somewhat tanned skinned guy from italy, and that was viewed as an interacial relationship. :D

Well, most Texans are from somewhere else. But I like it when people don't like Texas becuase that means they keep their ass somewhere else, now if we could just get all the California white trash that has moved here over the last few years to go home then.....

I lived in Texas for a while and I find it simply hilarious that you don't recognize the fact that Texas is most likely the white trash capitol of the USA. While I will admit the people were very friendly there for the most part, I had never seen/met so many backward, racist nitwits in my whole life. Moving there from Washington state I got a lot of the "You ain't from around here are ya boy?" questions...and the followup was always "You a Yankee ain't ya".

Seems like a lot of people that were born and raised in Texas had never even been outside of the state of Texas and had the attitude that "If it ain't in Texas it ain't worth going there".

There were some nice areas there, I lived in New Braunfels about 35 miles north of San Antonio and really like the whole hill country area. Might be fun to go back and visit....but I definitely wouldn't want to live there again.
