Texas Legislature goes back to work? finally?

Yeah, why don't the repubs just give up on this crazy redistricting crap? It's pretty clear it's not going to happen. TX Repubs need to drop the little partisan charade and allow the democrats get back to work already. Sheesh. 😉

...or just holdout until the next election, pickup the necessary seats needed for a quorum, then thumb their nose at the kids who took their balls and ran away.

Uh, the Democrats were the ones who didn't allow themselves to "get back to work" by behaving in such an immature manner and setting a dangerous precedent for any group of politicians that decides that avoiding their jobs and debate and discussion are the ways to deal with issues that displease them. While the Republican goal of redistricting has been dragged out needlessly and turned off most of the state's population, an noticeably greater number of people thought that the senators' running away from problems was a terrible way to deal with things. To ignore the equally, if not more ridiculous behavior of the Democrat senators only shows that you're the one wearing the partisan blinders.

It will happen, they could already call a special session and meet quorum, as one of the democrats that fled to NM came back a couple weeks ago, giving them enough people.

The only thing that will stop redistricting will be the courts. And its not likely for the courts to stop the redistricting at this time, although at a latter date they might alter the districting map.

Redistricting will likely happen, what has yet to be determined is if it will hold up in its proposed form, over the next 3-4 years of legal battles and court hearings.
