Damn. I just got out on the roads, and I have to say it's the worst road conditions I have seen in TX in 7-10 years. There is a solid sheet of ice on even the busiest roads. Usually when it ices here, the roads are cleared up by the early-morning traffic and sand trucks. Seeing as many places have shut down, I don't know if we are going to get the traffic we need to melt the ice on the roads any time today. And it looks like the sanding trucks didn't make it to my area of town.

Read my post. We have more than a "little snow" on the road, combined with lack of sand trucks needed (because we rarely get inclimate weather), and business shutting down is making for treacherous conditions.

Shutting down because of that? :D

We don't have spiked tires in Texas!

must have totaly flat tires, after 5 cars drive through a road with that little snow the road is clear of snow

Isn't the snow/sleet/rain also hardening into ice?

Yes, solid sheet of it on all the roads. You cannot see road markings, and you will slid on hills and if you apply too much break. It's heavier than it normally is when we get our annual 1-3 bad days of weather. I didn't believe it until I drove on it this morning to get my wife to work, that was fun!

That's exactly what I was thinking, but it'll never really snow down here. It sure does rain enough though!

Most you people who are saying it is just a little snow are fairly ignorant about the difference between snow and ice. An icy situation is 10x more dangerous than a snowy one.

Wow those are some high quality pics. What camera do you have?
Kodak DX4900

Cost me about $250 if memory serves, it is a 4 megapixel camera.

I took those pics at full resolution, then opened them in Corel Photo-Paint and resampled them to 25% of their original size to make them upload friendly.

For better or worse, they mostly do.

This is however one of the nicer complexes in Addison. Shame Thumper doesn't wanna live here. :(
