Then what's the point? If you're playing for fake money you can't bluff and nobody folds weak hands. The game essentially becomes a bunch of kids sitting around a table playing a game that requires less skill than Crazy 8's or Old Maid. Without actual betting involved poker is nothing more than cutting for high card, whoever gets deal the best cards wins. Yawn.

Wow, sounds like I struck a nerve. Tell me, are you throwing this hissy fit because now it's clear that nobody will think you're cool because you play Texas Hold 'Em? If you want to play poker, play it for real. Look your opponents in the eye and put your own money on the table. Otherwise, you're just a poseur. Without betting Texas Hold 'Em is a ZERO SKILL GAME. It truly is a nothing more than a cut for high card, whoever gets dealt the best hand wins. Why is the truth of that so threatening to you? Did you really believe that we were all going to be impressed that you play kids games for fake money?

I ask again, if there's no money involved, what's the point? Please, explain it to me. What's the attraction of getting dealt a hand and having the computer tell you if the cards it gave you won or lost.

Are you really that thick? If you want to play real money it would easily be setted up... I don't like to argue I rather fight it out on the tables... so how about it...?

I could give a crap about this "Texas Hold-em" thread but you are wrong when you say it is a no skill game. There's a heck of a lot of skill involved when 1)playing across the table from your opponents (as opposed to online) and 2) when your own money is at stake. Being able to analyze your oppents tendancies and motives involves a large learning curve. You also have to understand the mathmatics of the game; odds of that particular card actually coming up vs. a hope against hope for it. You should catch the "World Poker Tour" on TV a few times and watch those guys (and gals) go at it. It's uncanny sometimes when they seem to "know" when the other guy is either bluffing or has a strong hand.

I think you missed his point. He was referring to playing hold'em with "play" money instead of real money. There really isn't any skill involved in the game if you're not putting anything on the line.
