yeah, my friends and i play when we get the chance. with girls in the game it kinda sucks because they always lose out first, and then at the end we all end up giving each other money back. all in good fun, tho
Hold'em rules. They're filming for the WPT this week at Foxwoods Casino, the finals are this weekend I believe. My friends and I get together whenever we're all able to and play tourney's and hold'em low stakes for hours. Online, I play at UltimateBet and live action, I preferred Mohegan Sun because it was smoke-free, but now that they closed their poker room (I'm sure they'll live to regret it), I play at Foxwoods. Their poker room just recently went smoke-free as well.
omg I can't believe how many people play hold'em here. Paid my last two years of school playing online. Paradise poker used to be the place to play but the players are awfully tight there. Same with PokerStars I only play the 200+15 No Limit on sundays there. Also try the PrimaPoker.com network. Party is the biggest and has the stupidest people. They play ass backwards there. They limp with AA let all the drawing hands come in cheap and of course once AA comes up against 4+ players you've become an underdog. I prefer NL and Pot limit and of course the NL tournies. Actually in the sit n go tournies you can just fold all hands like KQ AJ JQ suited etc. Many people mistakenly think these are strong hands but the aren't, in the sit n go tournies I just folded my way until there were 3-4 (1st-3rd pay) players. Once the blinds become large you can start stealing them and putting pressure on people. If I'm the big stack or medium I start stealing with any two cards when it gets to bubble time and nobody wants to risk it. it's rather easy money. And people playing cards online are stupid, plain and simple. Great books are the Malmuth/Sklansky books, Cloutier and McEvoy put out decent No limit and tournament books. Hold'em is a game of small edges and you just apply them over the long haul. You get lots of bad beats with the terrible plays and even a dominating hand like AK vs AQ where the AQ is looking for basically 3 outs in the deck the AK is only a ~73% favorite. AA vs 22 is only a 4.5 to 1 favorite etc. So as dominating as it looks it isn't. We should have a ATOT tourny at PokerStars . That being said having played many hours at the brick and motar cardrooms I can say that online deals are not normal. And that too many weird and suspicious things happen online. Hopefully some programmers can delve into this. Oh and you can't use CC or paypal you have to use firepay or neteller.
if you are Eric123 of ultimate bet then I don't want any piece of you at short handed or Heads up hold'em. That guy isn't even 21 yet and he's made millions. lol
