What we need is some rain. And I don't mean raining men, hallelujah.

It's like watching trains go by a multi-track station, but one of the tracks is booby trapped, and you're waiting to see which train blows up.

Yep, we were down to something like 1.5GW reserve (~2%) for a bit. I wonder what the excuse is this time for the plants that seem to mysteriously keep going offline...

So today was the first Level 2 Emergency ERCOT has had since the five days of rolling blackouts in February 2021. God I hate this state, really wish San Antonio could secede and join New Mexico.

Cool and light rain in Fort Worth, our first in about 75 days. Temp plummeted 20 degrees to 85.

Low 75 tonight,

We are now in the top 10 of most days over 100 degrees in a summer:

To make it to number 1, we will need almost another month over 100!
Tomorrow we hit 71 days of 100+ in San Antonio and we will get to at least 73 before Sunday when 100 is forecast and Monday when 99 is forecast so I guess it could go either way. Though usually goes the hotter way.

Looks like the worst is over for SoCal. Haven't had a single power outage yet, it's a miracle! I'm getting through summer without having to lay in the floor with a box fan attached to an UPS. Very unusual! Probably helps people continue to leave California for places like Texas. Sorry, Texans.

Or maybe CA is just better prepared and not doubled down on stupidity.

We get a break this weekend 🤪
I'm looking at your forecast and it's 80s and even a day in the high 70s next week. I'm fucking jealous. San Antonio we get the cold front Monday and it takes us in the low to high 90s. Ugh our averages should be 91-92 by next week but the cold front isn't likely to bring us to historical average temperature but maybe a day or two.

I'm pretty sure a lot of people regret making that move to your now second world power grid state and also fascist state. I've read plenty of stories of people who are now locked into low interest rates and even with the profit they'd make can't afford to move to get the fuck out of that shit hole state, without having to move to another shithole state.

The cool liberal cities just got way too crowded, too much traffic, weather is way more shitty, no beaches, no mountains, second class tech scene, The power grid is run by Enron wannabes, women are like in the handmaid's tale.

Talk about buyers remorse. Saving a little money 3 years ago ain't worth the price of admission to that shit show.

if the wind would keep blowing and the sun shine 24/7 there would be no problem with plants going offline.

Or maybe Texas shouldn't operate their electrical grid like a corrupt Russian oligarchy.
