Texas Cop beats and tases 76 yr old over expired inspection sticker

In Victoria, Texas a police officer was just recorded beating and tasering a 76-year-old man who called the cop a “Goddamned Nazi Stormtrooper.” These sound like pretty harsh words until you find out that the officer was harassing the man for an expired inspection sticker, even though the vehicle had dealer tags which makes it completely exempt from such stickers.

The 23-year-old cop was placed on administrative leave on Friday after beating and tasering Pete Vasquez.

Vasquez was driving a work-owned dealer vehicle on Thursday when Officer Nathanial Robinson started harassing him. When Vasquez explained the exemption to the cop, Robinson became enraged.

The dashcam video shows it all. Robinson slams Vasquez onto the hood of the patrol car before forcing him to the ground, then shocking him twice while on the ground.

Was the Cop listening to rap music in his cruiser? It sounded like it on the video.

Man, those 76-year old men can really be scary I guess. Didn't realize the cops are so afraid of everyone.

Where did Merg go? Did he get tired of defending all these "bad apples"?

Old people are assholes.

So are cops.

Lock them in a room together and let them fight it out.

At least this hero got to home to his family tonight after beating a 76 year down over nothing. Paid administrative leave. Im sure the next course of action will for the chief to say this was by the books. And if a prosecutor even bothers to bring charges a grand jury wont indict.

Petite, slightly hunched over males in their 70's are responsible for almost 4/5ths if police homicides. You guys see an unthreatening and unarmed geriatric, I saw a stone cold killer ready to strike. That cop is a true hero in blue!

Is the main problem here that the force used was excessive or that the cop tried to enforce a registration violation on an elderly man?

I lol'ed a bit when someone on the news said "Muscled cop", that guy has smaller arms then the old man!

Except there was no violation to be enforced, the cop was in the wrong on ALL counts.

So the problem would be then an unlawful arrest, which is probably why he is on admin leave then. When he puts hands on him, I wonder if it was to control him from moving around or to just arrest him for whatever was going on in his head.

Very interesting. People do get stopped by mistake sometimes, state may have made an error or there may be something else going on. If it's a mistake, that doesn't give you the right to evade or resist. The driver may know the mistake right away, but the cop may need a few seconds to figure it out.

If anything, let the arrest or ticket happen then file a civil suit for an unlawful arrest and you will make a much bigger impact that way. More often then not a few minutes will clear the air and maybe you will find something out you weren't aware of or didn't think of.

Dealer plate violations are extremely common. Looks like he parked the damn car at the dealership when pulled over, and then pointed at it, probably communicating it's rightful working purpose.

I don't care that a cop made a mistake and didn't know the law. I care that he acted like a total animal and assaulted a guy for no reason at all. He was never under any threat from that old man. And if he is such a pussy he thought he was he shouldn't be a cop.

Based on his posts doubtful.

They were long and targeted.

His handlers must feel AT is no longer a priority for some reason.
..or Victorian Gray is here to take his shift ;)

That officer should be fired..period.
or charged with elderly abuse..either one..
