So are we ever going to get another movie that isn't a sequel/prequel or a remake?

The first one was great and I would rather just see that one in the theaters.

Oh and Lee Ermey kicks butt
 
I think they claimed the 1st one was based on a true story.

I like the first Massacre. I saw it as a kid & was freaked out, especially by the old people upstairs... It was cool! 😎
 
I have to say this one looks... ick.

The first one was great due to the camp factor, which it had in spades. Had several of those nice moments that make you jump. And, of course, it was original as hell for the time. The also went through the van load of kids like Oprah with a bucket of KFC.

The new one looks to have slicked things up, naturally. Not sure if it'll be able to replicate the tension and trills of the original, but with Hollywood today, I doubt it. The scene where Leatherface opens the door and grabs the first of the kids gave me a good jump! Of course they Politically Corrected the group of travelers and the killers. (Who else groaned when they saw the female hitchhiker?)

Can't say how it'll be right now, but based on 75% of recent remakes, I think it'll just serve to remind us why the original was so damned cool.

1st really kicked ass. I still remember the scene where they are trying to get grandpa to kill one of them by putting the hammer in his hand..

just finished the 1st one. hadnt seen it since high school.
still creepy...still awesome.
 
I remember reading in one of the reviews that Micheal Bay is on the committe that is trying lessen the violence in movies. Conflict of interest anyone?
 
Will this be anything like that chain saw scene in Scarface? That just made me so sad. If you look, while they are cutting his friend, Tony has his eyes shut and is trying to bury his face to avoid looking at it.
