i'm actually looking at TX, AZ, and GA for jobs because of weather, COL, and gun laws 😀

GA isn't a bad option either, I've spent a lot of time in Athens for work and always enjoyed it, nice big trees and pretty good scenery around it and Atlanta. And once again, FRIENDLY people are abundant there😉

I don't care who you are or what you've done, nobody deserves that fate.

It's idiots like this that really make you wonder. It's kindof ironic that so many northerners pick entire geographical areas of people and trash them. It's not so different from what southerners used to do when they said anyone from Africa wasn't a person.

You're mistaking Austin for the whole of Texas...it isn't anywhere near close down here😉

The number of popular votes Obama won by in the last election are pretty close to the number of votes he got in Texas.

Total was 42-57% iirc, and the Austin area, Dallas County, San Antonio, The Valley, Houston, and probably El Paso were all in the blue camp. Can we all secede too?

It is still Texas though, where even grandmas and hippies have guns. And know how to use them.

uh, you mean the way the Texas AG picked the entire region that is NY, with the underlying suggestion that the most important thing in the world is the ability to own any kind of gun and kill people over a tv ?

Moving somewhere for Economic Opportunity makes sense. Moving somewhere for the Gun regulations(or lack thereof) doesn't make sense.

This is what the Constitution and state's rights look like.

This is what political gain at any cost looks like, including purposeful dismissal of citizen input and prudent consideration. Here in NY the leadership has as much contempt for us peasants as those who believe that no burden is too great to be born by the ungrateful residents who have the pleasure of living under Prince John and the sheriffs fief.

Seriously, drama queen much?

You can't just throw your guns in a moving van and drive them to TX. You would be breaking so many laws of different states starting with NY.
A provision of the federal law known as the Firearms Owners’ Protection Act, or FOPA, protects those who are transporting firearms for lawful purposes from local restrictions which would otherwise prohibit passage.

Under FOPA, notwithstanding any state or local law, a person is entitled to transport a firearm from any place where he or she may lawfully possess and carry such firearm to any other place where he or she may lawfully possess and carry it, if the firearm is unloaded and locked out of reach. In vehicles without a trunk, the unloaded firearm must be in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console. Ammunition that is either locked out of reach in the trunk or in a locked container other than the glove compartment or console is also covered.

excellent info.

We're not forcing you, please, don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out of our state😉

Yes, because Austin's and other cities in Texas aren't terribly gerrymandered to make sure our vote pretty much counts for nothing on the state level...
