If I want to work on a motherboard outside a case, I can hook up the psu. But the worst part is having a case near by with a power button.

What should I look for to buy if I just want a power button? Does anyone sell a testing device where I can hook up power lights, hdd lights, power switch, and reset, but not a whole case?

jump the power stitch pins with a flat head like said or buy a switch.

Keep in mind some switches have exposed contacts behind them so be careful of that.

I'd just jump it at the motherboard pins with a flathead.

Great thanks for all the info. Been working on computers a long time and didn't know you could just short the pins with a screwdriver!!

At any rate the link to the frozen PC looked exactly what I was looking for, but with shipping it was $14. Picked up a cheaper one on ebay for $1 :)

Thanks to all for info
